This was timely for me. I believe I've hit FI but continue to struggle with the "what next"? I've been forced to mostly telework the last couple of years and I miss those same things from going to work everyday.
Really enjoyed this FIRE article. Our paths have a similar timeline- I closed our business in 2008 after the GFC basically killed it in the months after the crash. I could have stuck it out and held on I suppose, but I thought we had saved enough to quit and live on about 3%, and I was tired of the business anyway, so I pulled the plug and closed it down. Still living on around 3% thanks to Berkshire. I realize I need to find more meaningful things to do in retirement however and not just play 24/7, but I have not found anything I want to do yet. Don’t think I want to start another business that would tie me down.
The Trouble with FIRE
I'm not sure whether you've already written about his, but would be interesting to learn about your routine/how you organize your day.
